Daily Devotional: Psalms 94:16-23

Ps 94:16-23

16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers? 17 Unless the LORD had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death. 18 When I said, "My foot is slipping," your love, O LORD, supported me. 19 When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul. 20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you--one that brings on misery by its decrees? 21 They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. 22 But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. 23 He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the LORD our God will destroy them.

2 Cor 6:15-17

15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." 17 "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord.

The world is filled with people who do not know God and who do not recognize Jesus Christ as Lord. For many, this is because they have never been taught about God or seen the evidence for Scripture being his word. We, as the people of God, should be setting the right example to make the gospel attractive, showing our faith so others are amazed at how strong it is and then we should be sharing the good news of saving grace in Jesus with all who will listen to us.

The unbelievers use every form of communication that is available to teach their false ideas, promoting ungodliness and immorality. Our children see it from the earliest ages on television, in the cartoons and kid’s shows. Many commercials are subtly teaching disbelief in God and in his morality by promoting homosexuality and other erroneous ideas. The internet is filled with evil and then many of the textbooks used in schools are promoting every form of wickedness and disbelief.

As the children of God, we must put our faith in him and then teach our children, grandchildren and all others who will hear the word of God. When we fail to teach about Jesus, we are giving opportunity for others to teach their false ideas.

O Lord give me strength to trust you and to show my faith to others. Help me use every opportunity to teach them about Jesus as your Son and as our Savior. Give me wisdom to be a good example to all who see my life, my attitude, and who hear my words. Thank you for sending Jesus to be my Savior. Thank you for revealing your will to us in your word. Thank you for the healing of some who have been sick. Be with those who continue to suffer. I pray in Jesus name.
