Daily Devotional: Psalms 33:20-22

Ps 33:20-22

20 We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. 21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. 22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.

Rom 11:32-36, 12:1-2

32 For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all. 33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! 34 "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?" 35 "Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?" 36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Who am I to question or challenge God? Do I question his wisdom, the very one who designed and made me and all that exists? Do I question God as though he is not able to deliver me or take care of me; God who is infinite in power? Would I dare question his motives toward me when God is love? Only the fool will say there is no God or even question the great God over all things!

God is our help and our shield. He gives us hope in Jesus Christ who loves us and gave himself for us. The Lord of glory is ever watching over us and working things for our good when we love him above all else and offer ourselves in sacrifice to him. His unfailing love has been and is being perfected in us as we allow his Spirit to work in our hearts and transform us into his glorious image.

It is not wonder Paul tells us to rejoice in the Lord always! As we serve our Lord Jesus, we find peace that the world cannot understand. We have joy in the midst of trials and hard times. We are looking for a world and a city that is not made with hands but is prepared for those who love him, Jesus our Savior and our Lord.

Heavenly Father it is such a joy to be able to know you as my Father but also as my God. It thrills my heart to know that Jesus is my Savior and makes it possible for me to be free from all sin. While it grieves me deeply to think of his suffering on my behalf, it fills my heart with gratitude and love. I am so thankful that he is also my brother and my friend who intercedes with you on my behalf. Increase my faith so I will use every opportunity to reach the lost and to encourage those who are struggling. Give me a heart of compassion. I pray in Jesus name.
