Daily Devotional: Psalms 33:18-22

Ps 33:18-22

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.

Rom 8:31-33

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

No matter what we face in life, we can be more than conquerors because what we have to deal with now does not begin to compare with the glory of what will be in eternity with God. When God is on our side, we cannot lose. But if God is not with us, we cannot win and the only way for God to be on our side and for his Spirit to live in us is for us to be in Jesus Christ. He is the only way to eternal life.

But God will take care of us now, today and tomorrow. What a wonderful thing to know that God is on our side and that he can take us through anything that may come our way. God is love. God loves the entire population of the world. God loves you. God knows us individually, he loves us, and he cares what happens to us. God loves everybody but his protection is only for those who love him and who have come to him as Father, through Jesus his Son and our Savior.

A nation cannot negotiate with terrorist. Once that is done, they are in control and the nation will lose. We cannot negotiate with the devil, who is the ultimate terrorist. If we ever give an inch with him, we have let him have control of us and our lives. Stand firmly for what is right, even if it is not popular. Stand for truth, even though it may not be the going trend. But remember that with Jesus, the ones who opposed the truth the most were the religious leaders who felt they were the elite ones. Jesus is the only one who is truly elite, so stand with him!

O Lord God, creator, giver of life, thank you for all you have done for me. You have given me such wonderful opportunities in life, and you have given me so many wonderful people to help me along the way. Most of all, you have allowed me to know Jesus as my Savior, to have my sins forgiven and to be your child. Thank you for all the spiritual blessings you shower on me in him. Keep me from being selfish or greedy with what you have given to me. Be with those who are sick, those who are recovering from accidents and sickness and give them your healing and your peace. I praise you and your Son in whose name I humbly pray.
