7 Hear my voice when I call, O LORD; be merciful to me and answer me.
8 My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek.
9 Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, O God my Savior.
10 Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.
11 Teach me your way, O LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors.
Deep within each of us is the desire to know God. We are made by him as eternal spirits that long for his fellowship and even his approval. As we go through the good and the bad each day, we need to be able to share our hearts feelings with another. We can always know that God will not hide his face from us. He will listen to his children with patience because he loves us and only wants what is best for each of us. I know that when we face some major issue in our lives it is difficult to see that God is really listening. It is then we begin to doubt his love for us. It is then we begin to wonder what we have done wrong to make him not listen. It is then our faith begins to waver and even fail us. Notice what David said in verse 10; Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me. In our minds there is no greater love than that of parents. David says that God loves us more than a mother loves her baby! This means that God loves you and he loves me!
Lord God, please give me strength today to live for you. Please give me the assurance that you are listening to my prayer. Help me to look at my life and see how many times you are there for me and all the wonderful things you have done and continue to do for me each day. You have truly blessed me beyond anything I deserve. Help me to seek your face more often. And Lord, please “teach me your way.” Help me to want to know you by knowing your way. Help me to take the time to study your way as you have revealed it to me in your word. Give me wisdom to know your way in my life. To you be all the honor and glory forever and ever. May my life praise you in all that I am. Thank you for this opportunity to come before you and to talk to you in the name of Jesus your Son.
